Pastor O.N. Godwin, in California for a brief Visit, Dr. Wyatt spent some time with this fine minister, and the director of the Wings of Healing outreach in Nigeria. During their meeting Godwin expresses the urgent needs of the ministry. And indeed the burden is great for the struggling orphanage, which must feed 42 children. They lack the necessary school materials, and even the basic necessities. 24 are the children of native evangelists who last their lives in the violent upheavals that have plagued this area of Nigeria. All 24, however, are committed to continuing their parent’s work, and wish to attend Godwin’s Bible school.
Dr. Wyatt responded immediately, purchasing several volumes of Bible studies, and a large collection of commentaries. “Evangelism is my calling,” Pastor Godwin said, “The work expands daily through our numerous students doing their best to preach to the multitudes in the interior.” Godwin also expressed a desire to enable his best teachers to visit all of his schools for short periods. This he said, “Would surely yield great results and more truth being revealed to the students.” Pastor Godwin then invited Dr. Wyatt to an April Conference of Ministers, and the graduation of the senior Bible students. Humbled, Dr. Wyatt told Godwin that the thousands needed for travel would see better use in meeting the needs of the Nigerian ministry. Godwin appreciated the truth of this, but would still love to see the, “Jubilation of the ministers and graduating pastors at Dr. Wyatt’s commencement speech, sermons, and prayers.” Pastor Godwin desired also to share a heart-felt, “Thank you to all our friends, and to Dr. Wyatt for the continued financial support, the fervent and ardent prayers, and the good will and faithful ministry of compassion to the world and Nigeria.” A gift of $40 will ship up to 20 pounds of books to the main Bible school in Enugu, Nigeria.
